ANIMAL FORM
Raesil can take the form of a large tiger. A powerful animal for a powerful woman, Raesil has spent much time in her animal form and frequently enjoys hunting in it. Roughly four feet tall from paw to shoulder and over ten feet long from nose to tail, Raesil’s tigress form weighs well over five hundred pounds and is a formidable foe from mere size alone. Most of her coloring is typical of a tiger: orange, black, and white, but her eyes are a striking green, one of the few characteristics that identify her as something other than a typical tiger.

WHO ARE YOU?
PERSONALITY
Raesil is nothing if not independent. A strong, stubborn woman, she rarely backs down from anything (even a fight she knows she can’t win). Her pride in herself, and her people often guides her actions, both an admirable and a dreadful quality. The same pride she has in herself she has in her job, and therefore has no tolerance for incompetence. In fact, she has very little patience for anything at all. Hunting is the exception, and then Raesil can be infinitely patient. When tracking prey, she will wait indefinitely, but having to wait for anything else is likely to invoke her wrath.
Her lack of patience aside, Raesil’s persona is intimidating to most. She is blunt and has a sharp tongue. She cares nothing for subtlety or ‘beating around the bush.’ If something needs to be said, she will say it without concern for the thoughts or feelings of others, but she is not intentionally cruel. She doesn’t poke a sharp stick in tender areas just to get a reaction, but she is very practical and puts reason above emotion almost every time. She is a fair and honorable leader, and if she ever pushes reason aside it is almost assuredly for the good of her people. Raesil does not abandon her brother and sisters. She is fiercely protective, will defend them to the death, and refuses to leave anyone behind.
When it comes to her opinions of the other races, Raesil’s hate is reserved first for the demons that stole the lives of many of her kin. While she holds no love for the humans, she does not hold much hate for them either. Yes, it was one of their kind who released the demons into the world again, but Raesil’s logic is unwilling to place the blame for that on their entire race. Still, she hunts them all the same.
The amount of time that Raesil has spent in her tigress form has made her wilder than many of her brothers and sisters. She lives for the thrill of the hunt, and is not well suited for a mundane life. There is too much monotony and predictability in a ‘normal’ life, and Raesil is certainly an unpredictable woman. Her volatile nature can make her seem calm and agreeable one minute, but the second she disagrees with something she will lose her cool. It makes her extremely easy to provoke into a fight, a dangerous quality given her pride and recklessness.
Although she may seem it, Raesil is far from unapproachable. She has a confidence and authority about her that makes people hesitant to get close to her, and her blunt often sarcastic attitude often pushes away people who are willing to risk it. For those individuals tolerant enough or patient enough, and those with a tough skin who don’t mind the seemingly insensitive comments that come out of her mouth, Raesil is a powerful ally. She is fiercely loyal to friends and family, and country.
Raesil is simply a strong, confident woman who wears her heart on her sleeve. She’s not one to hide her emotions, although she does make an attempt to hide fear. She’s easy to read and therefore easy to provoke, but it also makes her an honest woman (although often brutally so). She does not lie to avoid hurt feelings or the fury of another. Unless there is a good reason to withhold information, Raesil will sugarcoat nothing.
APPEARANCE
The first thing one notices about Raesil isn’t her intimidating personality, it’s her intimidating appearance. She is anything but average, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She is tall for an elf, standing a little taller than five and a half feet and she weighs around one hundred thirty pounds. Her larger stature lends itself well to her position as a leader and gives her an even stronger air of authority.
However intimidating her physical size, however, Raesil can certainly be described as beautiful. Although a warrior, she is first and foremost a woman, and she makes no attempt to camouflage that fact. She has honey skin smooth and soft but for the occasional battle scar. Her figure is shapely and curvy with full hips and breasts. Thick, rich brown tresses fall midway down her back. Typically they fall unbound but for battle Raesil braids her hair at the base of her neck and binds the bottom with a thick gold clasp, leaving only a few locks at her face.
Browns and reds are Raesil’s colors and her typical outfit consists of a leather bustier which laces up the front, leaving a deep red chemise to cover her shoulders and arms. The chemise has a gold clasp at the neck and the front is cut so that an ample amount of her cleavage is visible. Her leather pants sit just low enough on her hips so that some of her skin and the bottom of her chemise are exposed. The pants lace down the outside of her thighs and tuck into her knee high boots, giving her a functional and figure flattering outfit. Elbow length gloves and knee high boots are decorated with a flowing script pattern and the occasional leaf. The only armor that Raesil regularly wears is leather shoulder guards which sit tightly against her shoulder from halfway between her neck and curve of her shoulder to halfway down her upper arm. For a larger battle, Raesil does don full leather armor, also decorated with the script and leaf pattern like her gloves.
A skilled bard, Raesil is never without at least one weapon, and she typically carries several. Two swords are sheathed across her back with one hilt over each of her shoulders. The blades have a gentle curve to them and have a double edged blade. Two daggers sit at her waist attached to her belt. These are the weapons she uses for close combat (although she’s just as likely to fight in her animal form or hand-to-hand), but she also carries smaller throwing knives. Two of these are tucked into each of her boots.
HISTORY
Born and raised deep in the woods amongst the ruins and many of her kin, Raesil was quick to develop the strong bond of fellowship that many of her kin share. She was born the daughter of a previous Maethan and a ranger and raised in a home with two other prominent families. It was clear very early that Raesil had the same talent for combat that both her parents shared. She trained with a variety of weapons, including a bow and arrow, but favored a blade she could hold in her hand.[/blockquote]
At thirteen, Raesil joined the military. Like all the new recruits, her first step was to work as a squire for another warrior to study both combat and military protocol. Raesil was fortunate enough to get assigned to a distinguished Astandos, and she learned much during her three years as a squire. At sixteen, Raesil officially entered the ranks as an Ohtar.
When not on duty, Raesil often joined the hunting parties. The tigress was a superb hunter and it was one of her favorite sports. There were many days Raesil simply needed to run. This frequent practice is what began to add a wild side to Raesil, but she loved it. She lived for the hunt and even battle began to seem like an elaborate chase. She perfected her craft through endless hours of practice. Raesil was a force to be reckoned with. She fought with traditionally with swords, but lived for the thrill and the challenge of daggers and hands or feet alone. The Maethan who had succeeded her father recognized her skills by promoting her to an Astandos at eighteen. At twenty-three, after the previous Eruan retired, Raesil was selected to take her place.
Four years later word reached the capital city that the demons had been freed. The army was immediately called to arms. The Maethan went to fight at the edges of the Elven lands in the hope of preventing the demons from getting anywhere near the city. Raesil remained to guard the city itself. It became painfully clear that something with Maethan had gone wrong when dozens of demons reached the city. Raesil rallied the soldiers and led them into battle. She quickly abandoned her weapons and shifted to her animal form. The tigress sank her claws and teeth in the demons that were quickly overwhelming the city, relishing the taste of blood in her mouth.
Only when Raesil caught a glimpse of her king and queen did she abandon her hunt to rush to their aid. Her vigilance came too late, and she did not arrive in time in save the king. Instead she fought at the queen’s side, determined to protect her. The tigress’ sensitive nose quickly picked up the scent of young Kaure when he wandered out of the palace. Abandoning her prey, Raesil followed his scent. He was defenseless in the middle of the fray. For the second time, Raesil arrived too late. She was mere strides away. She saw the demon; she yelled for the boy to run, but he was either too frightened or too stunned to do so, and Raesil’s ears flattened against her head at the sound of his scream. Covered in blood, the boy lay day upon the steps of the castle. Raesil did not stop to confirm his life had been taken. It was all too obvious. Instead, she left him in his mother’s care and bounded once, twice, then leapt toward the demon who had dared to take such an innocent life. The tigress’ jaws sank around his neck and blood filled Raesil’s mouth. She pinned him down and ripped away the flesh she had in her mouth. Her claws dug into his chest and ripped out his heart just to ensure that he was dead.
Eventually the demons were driven from the city, but so many lives had been lost, including those of the beloved king and his son. Maethan’s death was also confirmed and Raesil succeeded him. Lately she has spent much of her time trying to rebuild the broken city. Haven’t recently appointed a new Euran, however, she has been venturing further from home with hunting parties for game, demons, and humans alike. Part of Raesil can no longer bear to see the queen’s suffering, but part of her refuses to leave her alone in her despair, so Raesil is never gone long. Perhaps it is a suitable punishment that she be constantly reminded of her tragic failure.
