A thick turquoise smoke arose from a small house in the village. The smoke, obviously visible to those around the house would do no harm the the other inhabitants of this hell-ish place. It originated from a small pile of burnt paper and other unidentifiable materials. Next to the pile sat a small, rather harmless looking beast. The beast purred, not growled, as the smoke rose through the chimney. It wasn't long before a small, slender hand came and swatted the beast from the smoke, "Perry! Get away from there!". The voice that spoke was soft, and sounded genuinely concerned for the beast.
Perrum, the beast, looked up with his large eyes and trotted to the side of the girl. "You never told me what this one did, Verse," whined Perrum. Verse waved her hand over the smoke emitting from the pile. The turquoise smoke gradually faded to a light pink color and calmed down. The small hell-hound rubbed his head against Verse's knee, "So, what is this for?"[/color].
Verse took a seat on her chair and scribbled down some words on a little scrap of paper. Her note was hard to read, but the script she wrote with looked beautiful. Verse ripped the paper, kissed it, then added it to the pile of other paper that was already in the fireplace. The pink smoke suddenly lit to create a dark grey-ish fire that soon faded to a simple grey smoke colour. Verse patted Perrum on the head, "Let's call it a prayer for the damned...".
